Tastetastic Thursday 9/6
My son goes to a year-round preschool so I haven’t gotten into the whole “back to school” thing, but I’ve really enjoyed seeing so many of his little friends heading off to kindergarten. I’m sort of glad I have this extra year with him in preschool (his birthday is 6 weeks after the cut-off date). I’m not ready to send him off to elementary school just yet. I can’t imagine him riding a school bus, and using a backpack, and sitting nicely at a desk. This time next year I’ll be crying my eyes out, complaining about how quickly the time has gone. Just so you know.
What about you guys? Did you send anyone off to school? How old are your kids? Let’s get to know each other!
While we do that, here’s a look at some features from last week.
Homemade Granola (using a crockpot!) from Slow Cooker Savvy, Paleo Salmon Cakes from Jen’s Natural Kitchen, and Hash Brown Cake (Potato Kugel) from Yummy Inspirations
Who’s ready to party? The rules are simple:
- Please link up no more than two recipes.
- I’d love it if you’d follow me using the social media icons on the right sidebar.
- Please have a link back to me on your post. I’ll be featuring three links next week, but I can only feature you if there’s a link back.
- Click around, have some fun, and get inspired!

Thanks for hosting. I’ve got 3 in school and each at a different school. My youngest is in 5th grade so I wasn’t crying, I was doing a happy dance. Have a great week!
Thanks for hosting! I’ve linked up a recipe for Thai Chicken Curry Soup.

Thanks for hosting! My little guy is only 1 but I am sure I will be a crying mess when the time comes to send him off to school!
Thanks so much for this party. Enjoy your last pre-kindergarten days with your littles. It’s sure to be a blast. This is my 1st time linking up with you, so I’m excited to visit around. Take care, Amy. Following you on Twitter.
Amy,
Thank you for featuring my Paleo Salmon Cakes. Today I’m sharing Paleo Ice Cream.
Thanks for hosting
Amy, I just sent a 3rd and 2nd grader off to school! Can’t believe it! I have a 3 year old starting preschool. I will cry very hard when I take her that first day. I can’t even think about kindergarten! Thanks for the party!
My youngest just started middle school, it is weird for me not to be going to the elementary school PTO meeting this morning. It goes by so fast enjoy your last year of preschool. It is a precious time.
My 7 year old missed the cut off by 8 days, so he went to state sponsored 4/5 year old preschool when he was 5 and turned 6 right after he started kindergarten. I think it was a good thing for him. He’s in second grade now and I keep hearing the same thing from every teacher. “He’s smart and well behaved, but he takes too much time doing his work.” *sigh*
Thanks for hosting! All 4 of my kids are in school. My oldest is a freshman in college. Then I have 1 in high school and 2 in elementary school. So I am enjoying the quiet house!
Thank for hosting, I’m sharing Microwave Hot Fudge Sauce today!
