Tastetastic Thursday 3/1

It's March!  You know what that means?  It'll be spring next month!!  It's been a really mild winter here in the DC area, but I still yearn for 70 degree weather.  I want to walk around the lake behind our condo, and watch my son get more and more confident on his bike, and sleep with the windows open.  One more month!

Here are the lovelies that caught my eye this past week

We have a Great Harvest right around the corner (within walking distance!) but I don't go there.  I can't justify paying such a high price for bread, no matter how good it is.  I've been making my own the past few weeks (recipe to come) but I'll be trying this recipe next.  It looks light and hearty all at the same time.

Roasted Broccoli Recipe
Roasted Broccoli with Parmesan from Katherine Martinelli

I love roasted broccoli.  It makes me son gag, but my husband and I could eat it as a snack food.  The crispy almost-burnt parts are my favorite.  We make it similar to this version...covered in olive oil with a splash of kosher salt, but I like the addition of the parmesan.  Makes a pungent yummy vegetable even more pungent and yummy.

Dairy-Free Chocolate Banana Bars
Dairy-Free Chocolate Banana Bars from The Cheapskate Cook

Do I even need to tell you why I included this?  I mean, look how moist and decadent that looks!  I'm thinking that'll need to be made ASAP.

And now, on to the party.  The rules are simple:
  1. Please link up no more than two recipes.
  2. I'd love it if you'd follow me on Facebook and/or Google Friend Connect.
  3. Please have a link back to me on your post.  I'll be featuring three links this weekend, but I can only feature you if there's a link back.
  4. Click around, have some fun, and get inspired!
(As always, the links show up in random order.  No rewards for the early birds, or punishments for those who get there a little later.)

  2. Glad you liked the look of the DF Chocolate Banana Bars! I'm a fan myself :-) Thanks for choosing me to be featured!
This week I shared a favorite healthier comfort food - Bacon & Cheese Lentil Pie. Just a light sprinkling of bacon makes this dish over the top delicious, but you can also enjoy it without bacon for a vegetarian alternative. Still fantastic.
