Pinterest for Dummies Giveaway

You guys are all on Pinterest, right? If not, this is the perfect opportunity to get yourself on there. I love Pinterest. For me, it’s a virtual recipe box. Having a visual idea of what the food looks like, rather than just a text description, is the reason I fell in love with Pinterest.

Pinterest is a visual collection of bookmarks that you organize into virtual pinboards. If you see something on a blog, your favorite retailer’s website, or even something that you take a picture of with your smartphone, you can pin it to one of your Pinterest boards for future reference. Pinterest is also a social network. You can follow other users and be
followed by others. You can repin something another user has pinned, or you can like it or comment on it.

But getting started can be confusing, which is where the book Pinterest for Dummies comes in. This book walks you through every single aspect of Pinterest, from setting up your account to repins and privacy settings. It’s all laid out for you.

I’m pretty comfortable using Pinterest but this book was a nice reminder of all the features and uses for such a fun site. As with most new sites, it’s ever-changing so there have been some new additions that aren’t addressed in the book (like, what the heck is going on with this “Mike Like” thing???) but I’d still consider it a great resource for those of you trying to break into the Pinterest world.
