Menu Plan Monday 2/13

Did y’all enjoy your weekend?  We met up with my in-laws on Saturday and had dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, Coastal Flats.  Every time a new course came out I had to remind myself to take a picture because I wanted to share with you guys how much I love this place, and why.  (Excuse the camera phone pics…lighting wasn’t so great for photos)
We started with the Crab Imperial Dip which is served with these amazing lavash crackers that are sprinkled with Old Bay.  It has huge chunks of crabmeat and a perfectly seasoned creamy sauce.  So freaking good.
I’m so mad at myself about this salad.  It’s my favorite Crispy Two Noodle Shrimp Salad and it’s presented so beautifully and the shrimp is gorgeous, but I forgot to take a picture until it was almost finished.  I saw it and just started digging in and couldn’t control myself.  So you have an ugly picture of my leftovers.
Ah, dessert.  Let me preface this by saying that I don’t really care for pudding.  The texture is just weird for me.  Same thing with yogurt.  I need something crunchy or solid to balance out the weird fluffiness of pudding/yogurt.  So you’d think I wouldn’t like this banana pudding, but see those little sprinkles at the top and the bigger ones on the plate?  Those, my friends, are candied vanilla wafers.  Oh good lord they’re good.  And they are the perfect counter-balance to the creamy pudding and caramel sauce.
If you’re in the DC-area, you need to try this restaurant or any of its sister restaurants.  They’re all good.  Every one of them.  And I super highly recommend them.
And now that you’re sufficiently tantalized, here are my plans for the week:
Breakfast:
Steel Cut Oats
Yogurt
Lunch:
Leftovers
Dinners:
Pizza
Split Pea Soup

Those muffins should not read ugly…! They look amazing. I love carrot cake/bread so those muffins look like a winner to me. I also really like the chicken shepherd’s pie. Yum.
