I usually go to the grocery store alone. I like being able to take my time, pay attention to labels and prices, and have some alone time. Sad, I know, that alone time is spent grocery shopping but I’ll take what I can get these days.
My son really enjoys going to the grocery store with me, though, so I take him every once in a while. His favorite thing to do is run around the produce section naming all the fruits and vegetables he knows. Last week I called out a name of a fruit or veggie, and he ran around trying to find it. Like a little grocery store scavenger hunt.
I was given the opportunity to play a new game for kids called My Grocery List. You choose a grocery list and a shopping cart card. Then, you lay out the cards Memory-style. As you pick up a card you see if the food on there matches any items on your list. If so, you put it in your cart. If not, you put the card back and it’s another player’s turn.
Don’t let the goofy face fool you. He gave it an enthusiastic “yes” when I asked if he liked the game. It’s a great game for a kid his age (he just turned four), but I’m not certain a child much older than that would have fun. I’d say it’s perfect for ages 2-5. Click here for a list of stores that may carry this game (it’s new, so I’d call ahead first to make sure they have it).
And now…the main event. The guidelines are simple:
- Please link up no more than two recipes.
- I’d love it if you’d follow me on Facebook and/or Google Friend Connect.
- Please have a link back to me on your post. I’ll be featuring three links this weekend, but I can only feature you if there’s a link back.
- Click around, have some fun, and get inspired!
